ETTA International IS Empowerment Through Expression in The ARTS!
The Rainbow Players Improvisation Theater Troupe is 10 YEARS OLD - 2000-2010 ! ETTA International (Empowerment Through The Arts) grew in response to a NEED to CREATE. It is human to want to create ART. It is everyone's RIGHT to create ART! ETTA International is dedicated to creating Inclusive Arts opportunities for the enrichment and empowerment of individuals labeled as “developmentally disabled”. ETTA International brings this: training in the arts. Through mentor-ships and classes with The Rainbow Players, artists and art teachers, the dream becomes reality. All human beings are honored for their gifts and creativity.
With the seasoned theater troupe, The Rainbow Players, presenting at conferences and giving workshops in schools, leadership and dreams ARE coming true. From Amherst, Massachusetts to Dundalk and Galway, Ireland, to Omaha, Nebraska- the group has touched thousands of individuals with their candid and often humorous stories told through the medium of improvisation.
See for yourself! Invite The Rainbow Players to come to your school, your place of business, your home for a private party or your organization's conference to see how individuals with the label of "developmental disability" have overcome the stigma of dis-abled to living unabashedly and creatively as their unique selves! "Gifted" is the new paradigm.... Join us to see how we each limit our thinking and abilities!!
The year, 2008, has been a busy one and promises to just get more exciting and busier! We started in March with Ezzell Floranina, stiltwalker and storyteller going on an international performing tour to the Dominican Republic with Chris Yerlig, mime artist of www.mimealot.com on a tour of all the schools for the deaf in the country. This trip was made possible by Project Troubador, www.projecttroubador.org as they send groups around the world.
