Ezzell Goes to The UK and Ireland to find the Future for The Rainbow Players!
First, though... she heads to Canada to attend a week long intensive with Theater Directors from across Canada and the US... to test ideas and innovations for presenting our work in the most up-to-date format! June 6th -13th !
Then.... she flies to the UK, to Newcastle-upon-Tyne, to visit with our old friends, June 15th- July 6th: (travel grant info and credits coming soon!)
- The Lawnmowers ! They are celebrating 30 Years!!! Wow, we are almost 20, if you count when we met in 1997. We began doing theater in 1999. Going to see our big brothers and sisters as they celebrate 30 years!
- Then, Ezzell goes to Birmingham to see Open Theatre with Richard Hayhow, then Dublin to meet up with our "really" old friends, Sandy Sneddon and Encore Productions! After that....
- A Festival in Cardiff! July 1st-3rd, Unity Festival presented by the company, Hijinx Theatre. There will be an International Networking Event on July 1st - theatre troupes from Europe, Ireland and beyond...She'll be able to meet up with The Blue Teapot Company, met in 2005.....and then attend the Festival all weekend to see how "inclusive" theatre works in this part of the world.
Then... the trip winds down with a return to Ireland to fly out of Shannon. We left there 11 years ago after doing a theater exchange with The Blue Teapot in Galway after performing for the Dundalk International Maytime Festival for two years in a row!
